Besides drawing, I’m a huge fan of dogs, tea/coffee, long walks in the art supply store, and music that makes you groove. I'm an Austinite currently spreading hospitality in my new home of San Diego, California and learning how to get around without a horse.
(That was a joke. I promise we have cars in Texas.)
In regards to drawing, I once had a full head of pink hair down to my bottom, so hopefully that validates my status as an artist? If not, feel free to take a gander at my work!

Character Design with Andy Barry
Online · April 26 2018 – June 8 2018
I’d always wanted to take a specialized course post graduation to further my learning but many were out of price-range or already in session when I began looking. Thankfully, Andy Barry was offering an online Character Design class in which he demonstrated his approach to character design while providing assignments and voice/draw-overs after each completed lesson. I learned a great amount from the course and will definitely be recommending it in the future should Andy still be offering them. He was greatly encouraging and polite with some of the greatest constructive criticism I’ve received to date.
Focal Points of the Course Included:
- Character Expressions and Poses
- Gestures and Silhouette
- Form and Costuming
- 5 Point Turnarounds
University of The Incarnate Word
BA – Design, Media, Technology Studies
San Antonio, TX · Jan 2014 – Dec 2017
I transferred into UIW to study 3D Animation and Game Design. During my first semester I was reintroduced to art through my first figure drawing class and the encouragement of a new friend. This is where everything went wrong…and right.
I fell in love with digital sculpting but I wasn’t satisfied with sculpting other artists work, so I continued drawing to solidify my 3D work whilst unknowingly falling deeper into the rabbit-hole that is Character Design and Illustration.
The urge to strengthen my draftsmanship and character appeal led to the inevitable break-up between me and the 3D program at UIW. In my last year and a half of school, I switched majors to focus on rounding out my drawing skills with whatever courses I finally had the time to enroll in. Although my school didn’t offer a Character Design track, I made the most of the knowledge I gained in my new “choose your adventure” major and graduated December of 2017 with a BA and a minor in both Art History and Sociology.
